Homeside differentiates itself from our competition by being innovative with its products and services that both help our customers and our realtor partnership. Homeside has created such a fun atmosphere that people really enjoy coming to work. We are a family and really care about each other’s success. When you have a team that wants to help in all aspects of the loan from the beginning of the loan process to the end it really makes a difference in the home buying process for the borrower. What is one piece of advice you have for homeowners applying for a mortgage?
The best advice I have for a homeowner applying for a mortgage is to TRUST your lender. You can obtain a mortgage loan pretty much anywhere. You want to make sure that you are working with a lender that has your best interest in mind when determining which product is right for you financially. This is one of the biggest purchases you will make so it’s important to work with an expert. It can save you thousands of dollars and customers don’t realize sometimes how many different options there are for a loan. Big banks can be very limited on products and online lenders are servicing the processing of your loan out of state. It’s great to stay local with your lender!
Why is it important to get pre-qualified before you start looking for a home?
It’s extremely important to be pre-qualified for a home because you can’t make an offer on a home without it. Inventory is pretty low right now so we have many homes that are going into multiple offers. Being prepared with your pre-qualification shows the seller that you are a serious buyer. More importantly, it allows you to talk about payments and closing costs so you know that you are shopping for a home in a comfortable price range. This can save you a lot time by knowing your buying power before you start looking at homes.
What is your favorite aspect of working with local homeowners?
I grew up in Stow, Ohio, which is where my home office is. I absolutely love working in the community that I’ve grown up in. Being able to help people move into the community that I love is such a rewarding feeling. I truly feel that I’m welcoming people home. It’s also nice to be able to have the customers come in to the office and meet face to face. It really helps to meet the person you are going to be working with on such a big purchase.
